Emily Kearns ... that's me!

Hello new friends ..

If you're here, I'm guessing you're wanting to get to know a little more about little old me!

So here goes ...

I come from an Irish background, and spent most of my childhood playing on my Uncles farm in Ireland, Wexford.  I absolutely love the outdoors and finding beauty in simplicity. I generally laugh at my own jokes, and when I'm not behind my camera pouring my heart into my work, I am on long scenic walks, I am a sucker for a good sunrise or sunset!

Number one = Family & Friends. As much as I truly love my job, there is no greater gift than family and friends. I am a very proud Auntie to two identical twin boys Billy & Finley, and my two nieces Mia & Pippa (Mia in the above photo). Who of course all get regular photo shoots, so will never be too afraid to pose for the camera.

I feel blessed and have to pinch myself sometimes that Photography is my full time job. I was 17 years old when I won (yes won) a little olympus digital camera on a school trip to Japan. That camera sparked an ever growing love, and when I did my Art Foundation I finally bought my first DSLR. Being a little adventurer, photography allowed me to explore the world around me capturing the raw, emotional moments of everyday life that so often get overlooked.

I then went to University and studied Psychology to most peoples surprise. Photography was still my passion and I did this along side my studies. My degree has helped me understand people, especially children and compliments my photography in so many ways. When I finished University I started doing photography professionally,  schools, weddings, summer camps, pets, events and party photo-booths. I loved it and knew this was what I wanted to do forever! After four years I decided to move to Australia, and worked in Western Australia for a year. Here I had the opportunity to do School Photography, staffing the whole of their North West trip. On my return I decided I wanted to start my own business and run things my own way.

I am eternally grateful to photograph love for a living. Be it the love between families or the moment the couple say 'I do'. I am passionate about photography, as it is a way to preserve memories. I love working with people, and helping them to create their own memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

You’re not just a client to me, you’re a new friend adding to the chapters in my book of life. I would be honoured to capture your smiles today. Most importantly lets have fun while doing it, please get in contact :-)
